Robert Asselmeier is a classically trained artist who studied fine arts at
School of the Art Institute of Chicago. His current works of art
focus on the connection of art in nature through sustainable
resourcing of fallen trees. His creations can be found as far away as Japan, Poland, and
Australia. His work retains the beautiful energy of the trees from which
they are created. No living trees are harvested for use in the creation of
his work. Instead, Robert searches out trees that lay on the forest floor
and flood plains around his hometown located outside
St. Louis, Missouri.
Every beautifully finished and unique work of art is hand
signed, numbered, and cataloged for reference and collectibility.
Robert also contributes his time and a portion of the sales of his work to
fostering the areas that produced the medium for his work.
In his spare time Robert loves to spend his time with family, friends, and his beloved dog Cassidy.
Cassidy is always by Roberts side, whether its in the shop, at art shows, or just walking in the woods,
she is always there. He also loves photography. You can find Robert at local venues with a camera capturing
the moments of everyday life.
